NAPOLEON GIN

It is a cold compound style gin, produced through cold maceration in grain alcohol of all botanicals, a production method that originated during the alcohol prohibition period, first in England during the gin craze in the 1800s and later in America in the 1930s. This method, expertly crafted with the finest raw materials, leads to greater extraction compared to simple distillation, extracting even “heavier” but extremely aromatic and persistent aromatic components, as well as part of the color of the medicinal plants themselves, such as grape pomace. Intentionally left “unfiltered,” not cold filtered but simply decanted, to keep all aromas as intact as possible, which would otherwise diminish with more filtering. This results in a product with a slight amber/rosé color and light sedimentation in the bottle, a testament to the production method and the naturalness of the product itself. As for the aroma, it is an extremely fragrant and complex gin, with rose notes standing out on the nose, while on the palate, the “resinous” notes of juniper, always at the forefront, blend with the sweeter and more harmonious notes of red fruits and Moscato grape pomace, while coriander and angelica act as binders and provide a light spiciness along with cardamom, resulting in a perfectly balanced product, excellent even when drunk neat, and enhanced with a neutral tonic in a gin and tonic.
Various medicinal plants contribute to a unique recipe, an expression of the territory of our DOCG, with 27 botanicals, the Gin of Scanzo, unique and inimitable!
